The W.B. Yeats Chair of Irish Studies has the pleasure to announce that on October 11, 2023, Rosalie and Claudio Haddad, trustees of the Haddad Foundation, were honoured in a ceremony at Trinity College Dublin.
The tribute marks an official recognition for the substantial and sustained contribution made to the university by means of the scholarship programmes sponsored by the Haddad Foundation, among them the ABEI/Haddad Fellowship. Awarded since 2015 by the Haddad Foundation alongside the Brazilian Association of Irish Studies, the ABEI/Haddad Fellowship has to date enabled eleven Brazilian students to pursue their postgraduate degree at the Irish university.
Thus, Rosalie and Claudio became part of the “Benefactors through the Centuries” group, and had their names embossed on the wall of honour at the Grand Entrance of the Dining Hall, one of the most important historical buildings at TCD. The ceremony was attended by current fellows, the provost, Dr. Linda Doyle, and authorities such as the Brazilian ambassador in Ireland, Mr. Marcel Fortuna Biato, among other members of the university.
