Join us for St. Brigid's Day at the Ireland Corner!
In Ireland, February 1 marks the beginning of spring and the celebration of Lá Fhéile Bríde, or St. Brigid's Day, symbolizing hope, renewal, and the feminine. Since 2018, Ireland's diplomatic network has promoted the date in partnership with local communities, celebrating female creativity and women's remarkable contributions around the world.
For this year's St. Brigid's Day, on February 3 at 2 p.m., the Consulate General of Ireland and the W.B. Yeats Chair of Irish Studies are hosting a special event at the Ireland Corner, at AUCANI (USP's Agency for National and International Academic Cooperation), featuring poet, pacifist, and fabulist Nidhi Zak/Aria Eipe.
Eipe's first collection, Auguries of a Minor God, was published by Faber in 2021. The author was a finalist for international awards with her work, which was chosen as Book of the Year by The Irish Times and The Irish Independent.
