Heartfelt condolences are extended in recognition of his remarkable life of diplomatic service and intellectual commitment. As Irish Ambassador to Brazil, he played a significant role in strengthening and consolidating bilateral relations.

The Honorable Ambassador of Ireland, Frank Sheridan, opened the Roger Casement in Brazil exhibition in 2011.

The Honorable Ambassador of Ireland, Frank Sheridan, opened the  Roger Casement in Brazil exhibition in 2011.

During his mission, the Ambassador was a tireless driving force behind the consolidation of the W. B. Yeats Chair of Irish Studies and the Roger Casement Project in its early stages. He also offered invaluable support for the production of the film Secrets from Putumayo (2022), directed by Aurélio Michiles. His thoughtful reflections on his experience in Brazil, published in the special issue 50 Years of Diplomatic Relations Between Brazil and Ireland of the ABEI Journal, stand as an important testimony to the development of Irish–Brazilian relations and to his deep engagement with the country. He also contributed with a chapter in Lectures 2013 series, published by the W.B. Yeats Chair of Irish Studies, on the Peace Process in Northern Ireland, which further attests to his diplomatic insight, attached to this message.
