The Brazilian Association of Irish Studies (ABEI), along with the Emigrant Support Programme (ESP) from the Government of Ireland happily announce the ABEI Research Grant to attend the 2022 XVII ABEI Symposium of Irish Studies in South America; III AEIS (Asociación de Estudios Irlandeses del Sur) Symposium of Irish Studies; II CEEI-USAL (Cátedra Extracurricular de Estudios Irlandeses) Symposium of Irish Studies: “Commemoration or Celebration? The Irish Revival One Century Later”. The purpose of the grant is to fund a Brazilian Ph.D. student in the field of Irish Studies in order to take part in the conference at USAL, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The grant is of R$2,000.00, to be paid to a PhD Student.

Requirements:

  • The registration form (attached to the call) along with required documents should be sent to abei.abeibrasil@gmail.com under the heading: ABEI/ESP 2022 Symposium Grant.
  • The student must be a Brazilian PhD student, regularly enrolled.
  • The student must not be taking part in an ongoing exchange program.
  • The student must have submitted an abstract to the organization committee and received the acceptance e-mail (https://www.even3.com.br/symposium2022_abei_aeis_ceei/).
  • The student must be a member of ABEI and be up to date with the annual payment. (http://www.abei.org.br/associe-se.html)

Those interested must fulfill the aforementioned registration form and email it to abei.abeibrasil@gmail.com along with the following documents:

  • 250-word abstract (submitted and accepted by the general organizing committee);
  • Acceptance e-mail;
  • Updated student postgraduate transcript;
  • Curriculum Lattes;
  • Letter of interest stating how attending the Symposium will contribute to ongoing research.

The documents must be sent by email until 29 August 2022 and the final results will be announced 1 September 2022. For more information and the registration form, check the Grant call.
